Halton Lune Hydro Ltd. are planning to install a Kaplin turbine on Forge Weir on the River Lune. The nominal output will be 160kWe to produce 1,005MW hr of electricity. The company has been set up by Halton Community Association and is currently being converted to a Community Interest Company (CIC). All of the profits will go to Halton Lune Trust, a registered charity for the benefit of the community.
