Community Energy Direct (CED) is a not for profit Community Benefit Society registered with the Financial Conduct Authority.

• Since 2008 we have been working to ensure  people can afford to adequately heat and power their homes.

• Our challenge is now more urgent than ever before with 38% of respondents to a recent survey now having to chose between eating and heating.

• In December 2012 CED was awarded £233k by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) which enabled the kick-start of the Energy Smart Club model.

• The Community Energy Direct programme is based on a tried and tested grassroots engagement model which seeks to support and empower local community champions
